Scale&#8217;s legal team is keeping Remotasks current. Nobody else appears to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The single most useful thing we found is buried in the sign-up flow. When the site blocks an applicant by location, its own message reads: <em>Unfortunately, we aren&#8217;t currently accepting new contributors from your location on Remotasks. However, we encourage you to check out exciting opportunities to train Generative AI on Outlier.ai.<\/em> That is the company answering the question in its own product copy. Every listicle on this topic speculates about a migration. You can just read it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which countries did Remotasks stop operating in?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The documented withdrawals date from 2024 and were reported at the time. Remotasks was shut down entirely in <strong>Kenya on March 7, 2024<\/strong>, and in <strong>Nigeria and Pakistan<\/strong>. New sign-ups were blocked in <strong>Thailand, Vietnam and Poland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scale&#8217;s own explanation at the time was: <em>Remotasks remains fully available to existing contractors in Poland, India, Thailand, and Vietnam. However, due to enhanced security protocols, Remotasks was recently discontinued in some other locations.<\/em> On the Kenyan workers who received no warning, the company said: <em>While notices were sent three weeks in advance of the change, unfortunately, contractors in Kenya did not receive the notice due to operational errors.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two claims we could not verify and will not repeat as fact: that Remotasks withdrew from <strong>Venezuela<\/strong> or from the <strong>Philippines<\/strong>. There is substantial reporting about low pay and withheld payments affecting Filipino workers, which is a different thing from a country exit, and we found no dated confirmation of either withdrawal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do Remotasks accounts and support still work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accounts, yes. The login page is live and the dashboard route redirects to it normally rather than erroring. If you have an old account, you can almost certainly still reach it, subject to the broken Facebook login path noted above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/getaiwork.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/is-remotasks-still-active-photo2.jpg\" alt=\"Withdrawal failures are the most common recent worker complaint\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"gaw-photo\">\n<figure style=\"margin:1.8rem 0\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Support is a different question and the answer is worse. The support subdomain redirects to a help centre, and its listed address appears in Scale&#8217;s current terms, so it formally exists. What workers report is that nothing comes back. One review posted in August 2026 reads: <em>I have been reaching out to support for over a year. Their response from last year states that they can&#8217;t change my number.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trustpilot shows Remotasks at <strong>2.3 out of 5 across roughly 800 reviews<\/strong>, about 60% of them one star, and reviews are still being posted through August 2026, which is itself evidence that people are still trying. The themes are consistent: no tasks available, withdrawals that report success without money arriving, and support that does not reply. These are worker reports rather than company statements, and we have no way to verify individual cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If you still have a balance, what should you do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no clever trick here, only the obvious sequence, done promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Log in and check whether the balance is actually there. Try a withdrawal for a small amount first rather than the whole balance, so that if it fails you have not put everything into a transaction you cannot trace. Screenshot the balance, the withdrawal attempt and any confirmation message, with the date visible. Then write to the support address listed in the current terms, keep the ticket reference, and be specific: amounts, dates, transaction identifiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are not going to promise that this works, because the worker reports say it frequently does not. It is simply the only sequence that gives you a record. Outlier asks for at least an associate degree, a valid ID and mobile number from your country of residence, a resume and a LinkedIn profile. It publishes no hourly rate, saying only that rates vary by expertise, project complexity and location. It pays weekly on Tuesdays via PayPal, Airtm or bank transfer.
