AI Training Platforms Accepting Applicants Right Now (Updated Weekly)

By Mufy Pachorawala, founder of getAIwork · Last updated: October 21, 2026

As of October 21, 2026, the getAIwork board tracks 1,684 live, human-approved AI work listings, of which 547 (32%) are platform programmes with recurring intake. Open-signup platforms currently include Prolific, CrowdGen, Toloka and TELUS Digital AI; DataAnnotation, Outlier and Alignerr accept with screening; Mercor, Micro1 and Handshake AI recruit credentialed specialists. The board figures on this page are refreshed every morning; platform statuses carry their own check dates.

Listen to this article, about 11 minutes. A synthetic voice reads the article and announces each section title as it begins; tables are read row by row and the questions at the end are left out.

Recorded 15 October 2026 from the article as published that day. Press a chapter to jump there; the highlighted line is what is playing. A play button sits beside every section heading, and once you scroll past this player a bar at the bottom of the screen keeps the controls in reach. Tap or click any sentence to hear the reading start from there.

On this page: fifteen platforms in three tables, each status dated to the day it was checked against the platform’s own page, what the gate actually is, and pay only as listed; the board’s live counts, refreshed every morning; what closed or paused, so you stop waiting for it; and the order to apply in, with a chooser that restates it for what you already have.

Think you already know this? Five questions, one minute.

Every answer is on this page. Answer from what you know now; the page fills in the rest, and nothing here predicts whether any platform will accept you.

  1. 1. What does open intake mean on this page?

  2. 2. What separates the screened platforms from the open ones?

  3. 3. Where do the highest listed rates on this page sit?

  4. 4. What happened to Remotasks?

  5. 5. How does a listing reach the getAIwork board?

What closed, paused or wound down recently?

Knowing what not to wait for saves more time than any listing. Remotasks remains online but is closed to new sign-ups in many regions and redirects applicants to Outlier, its sibling under Scale AI. xAI’s tutor programme cut around 500 generalist annotators in September 2025 and was reported paused for new tutors in mid-2026. Sepal AI was acquired by Mercor in February 2026, and its expert hub effectively routes into Mercor’s ecosystem. And across the industry, mass generalist writing programmes shrank through late 2025; the durable demand moved to coding, specialist evaluation and language work, which is visible in the technical share of our own board.

Intake status across AI training platforms changes weekly with client demand
Timeline of AI training platform closures and pauses: xAI tutor cuts in September 2025, generalist writing programmes shrinking in late 2025, Sepal AI acquired by Mercor in February 2026, xAI tutor intake paused in mid 2026, Remotasks closed to new sign ups.
The events named in this section, dated as reported by the platforms and the press at the time. Statuses on this page are rechecked weekly, so a paused programme can reopen; a closed one is listed so nobody waits for it.

How should you use this list?

Three moves, in order. Pick one open-intake platform and start it today, because its availability covers everyone else’s review delays. Add one screened platform whose gate you can pass properly this week, using our reviews (DataAnnotation, Outlier, Alignerr) to prepare for the specific assessment. If you hold a credential or senior skill, add exactly one specialist application (Mercor vs Micro1 settles which). Then follow the volume, not the brand: queues move weekly, and the workers who sustain this category move with them.

Which table should you start with?

Pick the line that describes what you already have. Each answer restates the three moves on this page; nothing here is scored, stored or sent anywhere.

This restates the order on this page. It stores nothing and predicts nothing about acceptance or earnings.

How is this data compiled?

The getAIwork board continuously scans AI work sources; 46,540 posts had been screened as of October 21, 2026. Automated checks remove expired, duplicate and fee-charging posts, and a human approves every listing that goes live. Of the 1,684 currently live, 547 are recurring-intake platform programmes, 222 are marked beginner-friendly and 521 are fully remote. Intake statuses in this article are point-in-time observations on their stated check date, refreshed every morning alongside our live job market statistics. Platforms are never paid for placement, and pay figures are quoted only as listed by the source.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI training platforms are accepting applicants right now?

As checked on October 15, 2026: open intake at Prolific (waitlist), CrowdGen, Toloka, TELUS Digital AI and Stellar AI; screened intake at DataAnnotation, Outlier, Alignerr, Welocalize and Invisible; specialist recruitment at Mercor, Micro1, Handshake AI, Turing and Pareto.AI (waitlist). Statuses are rechecked weekly against each platform’s own page, and the tables above carry the detail and the listed pay for each.

How current is this information?

Platform statuses were last checked on October 15, 2026 against each platform’s own page and are rechecked weekly. The board figures on this page are refreshed every morning from the getAIwork board, which held 1,684 live listings on October 20, 2026 and deletes filled listings daily. If you are reading long after those dates, the board itself is the live version of this list.

Which platform should a complete beginner start with?

Start with CrowdGen, Toloka, TELUS Digital AI or Stellar AI, taking sign ups at the October 15, 2026 check, plus one properly prepared DataAnnotation attempt if you are in an eligible country. 222 of the 1,684 live listings on the board were marked beginner-friendly on October 20, 2026, and our no-experience guide covers the full path.

Which platform has the highest pay?

The highest listed figures sit on specialist platforms: Mercor roles at $63 to $120 per hour, Micro1 reports beyond $100 for rare skills, and Alignerr ceilings up to $150. All are listed or reported rates behind selective screening, set per project, and never guaranteed.

Do any of these platforms charge workers?

No. Every platform on this page charges applicants nothing at any stage, and fee-charging sites are excluded from the getAIwork board by rule. An upfront fee is the most reliable scam signal in this category; our JobPeak investigation shows the checklist in action.

Why is a platform I know missing from this list?

Either its intake was closed at the check date, it failed board screening, or it is too new for any independent track record. The board adds platforms as they pass screening, so a missing name is a current status rather than a permanent judgment.

How do you verify these listings?

Automated scanning filters expired, duplicate and fee-charging posts, then a human approves each listing before it goes live; 46,540 posts had been screened as of October 20, 2026. Platforms never pay for placement, and pay is quoted only as the source lists it.

Finished the page? The same five questions from the top, to see what stuck.

Platform statuses and listed pay change without notice. Pay figures are quoted only as listed by the poster on the date shown and are never a promise of earnings. This page was verified on the date shown and is rechecked on the weekly refresh.
