micro1 is seeking an experienced Autodesk Inventor Specialist to support AI training initiatives through advanced mechanical design work. As a remote contractor, you'll develop and refine fully-parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies, edit existing designs to meet updated specifications, and audit models for compliance with dimensional, tolerance, and manufacturability standards. Your expertise in parametric modeling directly contributes to training AI systems, helping them learn real-world design reasoning and best practices—no prior AI experience needed.
Your responsibilities will include creating detailed technical drawings using GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent), evaluating designs for manufacturability across injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and casting processes, and documenting design decisions to support AI learning. You'll communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and deliver solution-focused feedback on complex mechanical challenges.
This role suits advanced practitioners with at least 4 years of hands-on parametric modeling experience (10+ years preferred for complex creation work).
