Otter AI careers, counted on Otter.ai’s own Greenhouse board on 31 October 2026, come to 20 open roles: 15 in engineering and 5 in marketing, sales and solutions. Every posting lists a pay range, from $135,000 for a new graduate engineer, and nearly all are hybrid in Mountain View or San Francisco. None is a transcription or AI training gig.

What does Otter.ai’s own careers board list today?
Twenty jobs, which is more than most copies of the list on other job sites show. Otter.ai, the meeting notes company, runs its hiring on a Greenhouse board that feeds the openings on otter.ai/careers. We read every posting on that board on 31 October 2026 and sorted them by the department Otter itself assigns.
| Department on Otter’s board, 31 October 2026 | Open roles | Example posting |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering | 12 | Director of AI Research |
| Frontend | 3 | Software Engineer, Front-End (New Grad) |
| Marketing | 2 | Head of Brand & Storytelling |
| Sales | 2 | Senior Director of Sales |
| Revenue | 1 | Senior Solution Architect |
| Total | 20 |
So three quarters of the board is software engineering, and the AI flavoured titles are engineering jobs too: a Director of AI Research and two Software Engineer, AI Agent & LLM postings at senior and mid level. Seven of the 20 were first published in October 2026. One, Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Product), was first published in August 2020 and refreshed in September 2026, which makes it either an evergreen opening or the most patient job advert in Silicon Valley.
Every role sits in Mountain View or San Francisco. There is no Otter.ai posting outside California on the board today, and no internship.

What does Otter.ai pay, as listed on its postings?
Unusually, all 20 postings print a range, so nobody has to guess. These are the figures exactly as listed on 31 October 2026. Otter says on each posting that the actual base salary depends on several factors, so a range is an advertised band, not a promise of what any one person is offered.
| Role, as titled on Otter’s board | Postings | Range as listed, USD a year |
|---|---|---|
| Software Engineer, Front-End (New Grad) | 1 | $135,000 to $164,000 |
| Software Engineer, Backend (Infrastructure) | 1 | $136,000 to $185,000 |
| Software Engineer (Frontend, Data Infrastructure, AI Agent & LLM), Production Engineer | 4 | $155,000 to $185,000 |
| Growth Marketing Manager, Paid Acquisition | 1 | $150,000 to $170,000 |
| Senior Software Engineer (five teams) | 5 | $185,000 to $230,000 |
| Senior Solution Architect | 1 | $189,000 to $248,000 OTE, including commission |
| Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Infrastructure, Product) | 2 | $210,000 to $275,000 |
| Director of AI Research; Engineering Director, Infrastructure | 2 | $244,000 to $313,000 |
| Head of Brand & Storytelling | 1 | $250,000 to $280,000 |
| Senior Sales Manager | 1 | $260,000 to $300,000 OTE |
| Senior Director of Sales | 1 | $330,000 to $380,000 OTE |
Two notes on reading that table. OTE means on target earnings, base plus commission, so the three sales and solutions figures are not salaries. And the new graduate role still asks for internship or industry experience with a JavaScript framework and a BS or MS in computer science or a related field, as listed. Entry level here means entry to a Bay Area engineering team, not entry to work.

Can you work remotely at Otter.ai?
Mostly no. Eighteen of the 20 postings carry Otter’s hybrid tag, and the two sales leadership roles spell it out: three days per week in one of Otter’s Bay Area offices. Otter’s careers page describes the arrangement as working from the Mountain View or San Francisco office “plus a couple days from home”.
The single exception on 31 October 2026 is the Senior Solution Architect posting, which lists “Mountain View, CA; Remote” as its location and asks for five or more years of presales experience in business software. If you were hoping for a fully remote Otter AI career with no office and no five year track record, the board does not have one today. Our AI jobs match quiz points to the kinds of remote AI work that do fit a shorter background.
Why do job sites disagree about Otter.ai openings?
Because they copy the board at different times, and one of them is counting a different company. Here is what each source showed when we checked.
| Source | Checked | Otter.ai roles shown |
|---|---|---|
| Otter.ai Greenhouse board | 31 October 2026 | 20, the source of record |
| Scoutify | Sources reviewed 19 October 2026 | 16, and it places the Head of Brand role in Mountain View as well as San Francisco |
| Built In, Otter.ai page | 31 October 2026 | 0, “No jobs to discover at this time” |
| Spectrum Equity portfolio board | 31 October 2026 | No postings shown |
| Greenhouse board named Otter | 31 October 2026 | 20 roles, but for a different company |
That last row trips people up. The Greenhouse board at the plain address “otter” belongs to a restaurant software company also called Otter, which helps restaurants run online delivery and hires in Los Angeles, Seattle and Bogotá. It has nothing to do with meeting transcripts. If a listing for “Otter” mentions restaurants, delivery menus or Colombia, you are on the wrong Otter.
Investor portfolio boards are the other trap. Spectrum Equity’s careers board, run by an investor that lists Otter in its portfolio, ranks well for this search but showed no Otter postings when we read it. The fix is boring and reliable: start from Otter’s own board and treat every copy as a lead to check.
What do Otter.ai candidates report about interviews?
Glassdoor’s Otter.ai interview page, updated 16 September 2026, collects 56 candidate reports. These are what candidates say, not anything Otter has confirmed. Glassdoor rates the experience 37.5% positive, puts difficulty at 2.98 out of 5 and gives an average of 23 days from application to hire. 56% of those candidates applied online, and a phone interview was the most common stage, named in 33% of reports.
We could read the three most recent accounts on the public page before Glassdoor asked us to sign in. A software engineer candidate in September 2026 said they were turned down at the recruiter screen, probably for not matching the research requirements, and heard nothing back after asking for feedback; Otter replied publicly that it does not typically give individual feedback. A sales development candidate who interviewed in Scottsdale, Arizona in April 2026 described four rounds over four weeks, including a guided mock call, rated it positive and declined an offer. A technical delivery manager candidate in May 2026 described a rushed ten minute recruiter call with no time for questions.
Three accounts is a small sample, and two of three were negative, which matches the page’s own 37.5% figure. The pattern worth taking away is practical: the first screen is short and decides a lot, so have a one minute answer ready for why Otter, and expect silence rather than feedback if it goes the other way. Otter’s careers page speaks of “rave Glassdoor reviews”; those are employee reviews, which we did not read, and the interview side reads cooler.
Does Otter.ai hire transcribers or AI trainers?
Not on its board. None of the 20 postings is a transcription, data labelling or AI rating role. Otter’s own description on every posting says it uses artificial intelligence to generate real time automated meeting notes, so the transcribing is the product, not a job. A message offering paid “Otter transcription work” through Telegram or WhatsApp is not something we could find on any Otter page, and no real employer asks you to pay to apply.

If transcription and voice work is what brought you here, look where it is actually listed. The free getAIwork board, which screens AI work listings and needs no signup, carried 1,757 live listings in its stats file updated 30 October 2026, 40 of them tagged voice and video. Our guide to part time AI jobs and the AI jobs with no experience page cover the contractor routes, and for other companies’ own boards, compare Hugging Face’s six remote roles or Cohere’s board and its contract route.
Is Otter.ai still hiring after its new funding?
Yes, on the evidence of the board. Otter announced on 20 October 2026 that it had closed $320 million in growth financing from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund, to accelerate “enterprise growth, go-to-market strategy, international expansion”. The release reports more than 40 million users and teams at over 86% of the Fortune 500. TechCrunch reported the same day that this kind of financing is repaid from the returns on marketing spend rather than by selling equity.
The release does not mention hiring numbers, so we will not invent any. What the board shows is that seven postings went up in October, including the Senior Director of Sales and Senior Sales Manager roles on 22 October, two days after the announcement. Whether more sales and international roles follow is a question the board will answer, not a press release. If you are weighing a role like the solution architect opening, our AI solutions architect guide explains what that job involves elsewhere.
If none of these 20 roles fits and you want a shortlist built around your own background, the platform comparison quiz sorts the options in a couple of minutes.
